Overnight Camp Expereince Exclusively by Taktsangri-La
OverView
Trade city noise for a ridge-top sanctuary. After a scenic 30-40 minute drive from Paro (Taktsangri-La is an ideal base), your hike begins through fragrant blue pine and juniper forests. As the trail climbs to roughly 3,550 meters, the forest parts to reveal sweeping views of Mt. Jomolhari and the valleys of Paro and Haa. At camp, your guide, crew, and certified trekking chef welcome you with hot tea or coffee and a warming soup. Private A frame sleeping tents, a cozy dining tent, and a hygienic toilet tent are ready-so you can simply arrive, exhale, and watch the sunset paint the ridge in gold before a night of bright stars.
The path is steady and rewarding-no technical sections, just a comfortable ascent paced to your breath. We build in photo stops and quiet moments, and we adjust to how you feel at altitude so the journey remains enjoyable and safe. Jele Dzong itself is more than a landmark: a 16th century hilltop monastery dedicated to Jowo Jampa (Maitreya), it once guarded routes between Paro and Thimphu and still hums with living spiritual tradition. Dawn here is special-prayer flags stirring, mountains glowing, a gentle start to your day above the clouds.
